10th February 2025: Muthoot Finance Ltd announced on Tuesday scholarships worth INR 1 crore for talented school students (8th and 9th grade) from across 788 districts pan India for next year (FY26). This initiative, part of the company’s long-standing CSR efforts and aimed at recognizing the academic excellence of secondary students, was unveiled today during the 15th-anniversary celebrations of the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards.
This year, Muthoot Finance awarded a scholarship worth INR 43 lakh for more than 1400 students. This initiative underscores Muthoot Finance’s commitment to fostering educational opportunities for young minds nationwide, further solidifying its role as a responsible corporate entity dedicated to social progress.
The Excellence Awards Distribution Ceremony held today at The Muthoot Group Head Office, Ernakulam. The event was inaugurated by Smt. R. Bindu, Minister for Higher Education & Social Justice, Kerala, alongside the Guest of Honor – Shri K.N. Unnikrishnan, Member of Kerala Legislative Assembly, Vypin and Shri K.V. Abdul, Azeez, Chairman and Managing Director, Skyline Builders.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Finance, who emphasized on the transformative power of education in shaping society. Shri Rohith Raj, Head – Corporate Communications, Muthoot Finance delivered the keynote address. Other distinguished attendees included Shri K.R. Bijimon, Executive Director & COO, Muthoot Finance, Shri Vinod, Regional Manager, Ernakulam, and Shri Janson Varghese, AM, CSR, Muthoot Finance.
Muthoot Finance has been at the forefront of numerous CSR initiatives in education. Launched in 2010, the Muthoot M George Excellence Awards aimed at empowering academically talented students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. As part of this pan-India initiative, the Muthoot M George Foundation has disbursed more than INR 3 Crore and benefitted 10,000 students across India. This nationwide effort underscores the Muthoot Foundation’s dedication to nurturing academic excellence and supporting deserving students.
