When we speak of power, the conversation often revolves around megawatts, machinery, and transmission lines. At SEIL, power holds a deeper, more human meaning – the power to forge sustainable pathways toward dignity, health, and opportunity. As a responsible independent power producer operating advanced supercritical power plants, we understand that our long-term viability is intrinsically linked to the well-being of the communities we operate within.
Our approach to CSR is guided by the strategic pillars of resilience, innovation, and sustainability. We believe that enduring growth is possible only when value is created equitably for all stakeholders, especially for communities that form the social ecosystem around us.
Our CSR initiatives are closely aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and are designed to deliver long-term, measurable impact. With a focused presence across health, education, skill development, and environmental stewardship, our programmes aim to enable lasting transformation.
Health & Well-being: A Foundational Commitment
A cornerstone of our community engagement, SEIL’s healthcare initiatives impacted over 2.08 Lakh people in the past three years. Our Health and Wellness Centers stand out as a scalable model for accessible, quality care, providing over 25,500 free consultations, diagnostics and health awareness programmes till March 2025.
Preventive healthcare has been another strong focus. In partnership with the Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre, 117 cancer screening camps were organised in past two years across Nellore district, enabling early detection. Our vision screening initiative with Operation Eyesight India has reached over 25,000 individuals.
Taking healthcare to the last mile, our Mobile Medical Units travel to remote villages, serving women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Over the past three years, these units reached nearly 42,000 individuals to provide primary care, emergency support, and home-based services. We have strengthened local healthcare infrastructure by providing critical medical equipment to charitable hospitals across Nellore district, enabling improved diagnosis and treatment for underserved patients and benefiting close to 40,000 people.
Beyond Healthcare: Building Holistic Community Resilience
While healthcare remains a core focus, SEIL’s CSR approach to community well-being is holistic and integrated. SEIL supports career counselling for adolescents, STEM labs in government schools, and strengthening of Anganwadi centres to create safe, stimulating spaces for early childhood learning and cognitive development. Skill development initiatives promote local employability and entrepreneurship, with a strong focus on youth and women. We promote clean drinking water through community-level RO water plants, renewable energy awareness and ecological conservation around our operations.
At SEIL, we believe true progress is measured not only by the energy we generate, but by the lives we empower. As India advances on its development pathway, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that growth is inclusive, responsible, and rooted in community well-being.
