ScoopWhoop celebrates Animal Welfare Week starting from October 29 to November 4, 2018

PRESS RELEASE

ScoopWhoop celebrates Animal Welfare Week starting from October 29 to November 4, 2018

New Delhi, 31 October 2018: India’s leading youth media platform for news and entertainment, ScoopWhoop, has always been all for animal welfare. In the past they have actively covered content related to wildlife conservation, animal rescues and promoted adoption drives. The office compound itself is home to many furry beings who are fed and looked after by office staff.

So, it comes as no surprise that they are taking their love for animals to the next level and organising an Animal Welfare Week from October 29 to Nov 4. It is a week-long awareness campaign to promote the safety and preservation of all animals – pets, strays and wildlife. This campaign intends to bring together like-minded people, experts, vets and pet lovers who want the best for their furry friends. The idea is to equip pet owners with information they can use, educate the masses about animal rights, promote adoption over ‘shopping,’ and go on to create a community for animal lovers.

In a country where one can torture animals for sadistic pleasure and walk away scot-free with a measly fine of just Rs. 50, it has become imperative to create a safe space for animals. The efforts of the campaign are aimed at finding volunteers and working with NGOs and individuals to strengthen the cause.

Sriparna Tikekar, Co-Founder, ScoopWhoop, shares her views, saying, “As an organisation, we are strongly committed to providing animals with a voice. We decided to celebrate Animal Welfare Week because we strongly feel it is our moral responsibility. October 29 to November 4, 2018, is ScoopWhoop’s Animals Welfare Week, and we are excited to share this tremendous opportunity to come forward and support our cause in making our society a place that is caring and respectful towards animals.”
