Food For All initiave_ - Durba DeviNew Delhi, June 5, 2026: At a time when rising food prices, increasing LPG costs, and mounting financial pressures are forcing vulnerable families to make difficult choices between essential needs, Wishes and Blessings has announced the launch of its Food for All Initiative, a major expansion of its decade-long hunger relief programme.

The initiative marks the evolution of the organisation’s flagship Daily Meals Programme into a broader and more inclusive intervention designed to address the growing challenge of food insecurity across India. Through Food for All, Wishes and Blessings aims to expand its reach from 2,000 to 4,000 beneficiaries and extend operations from 7 states to 9 states, significantly strengthening its fight against hunger.

Across the country, the combined impact of rising living costs, food inflation, increasing cooking fuel expenses, and unstable livelihoods is placing immense pressure on low-income households. Families are cutting back on meals, elderly individuals living alone are struggling to afford basic nutrition, and daily wage earners are finding it increasingly difficult to feed their families.

For Wishes and Blessings, these are not just statistics—they are realities witnessed on the ground every day.

“Over the years, we have seen hunger evolve from an isolated challenge into a growing crisis affecting families, senior citizens, daily wage earners, and entire communities. More people are approaching us for food support than ever before. Food for All is our response to this urgent need and our commitment to reaching more people with dignity and compassion,” said Dr. Geetanjali Chopra, Founder and President, Wishes and Blessings.

For more than a decade, Wishes and Blessings has worked tirelessly to ensure that vulnerable individuals have access to nutritious meals. What began in December 2015 with just 60 beneficiaries in a shelter home has grown into a large-scale programme serving over 2,000 individuals daily across India.

Recognising that hunger manifests differently across communities, the organisation has developed a multi-pronged approach under the Food for All Initiative.Food For All initiative - Durba Devi

Three Pillars of Food for All

Fixed Centre Meals
Daily nutritious meals served through designated centres catering to identified vulnerable beneficiaries.

Community Kitchen Outlets
Open-access community kitchens where anyone in need can receive a meal without documentation requirements, eligibility barriers, or discrimination, ensuring food remains accessible with dignity.

Ration Kit Distribution
Bi-weekly ration kits containing essential food supplies for families living in remote and underserved areas where regular cooked meal distribution may not be feasible.

Through this integrated model, the organisation aims to build a stronger and more responsive food support ecosystem capable of addressing diverse needs across urban and rural communities alike.

Despite the planned expansion, Wishes and Blessings has committed to maintaining the sponsorship cost at ₹1,100 per month per beneficiary, made possible through operational efficiencies, strategic partnerships, and large-scale procurement systems.

The organisation is now inviting individuals, philanthropists, corporate partners, and CSR leaders to join the movement and help bring food security to more vulnerable communities across the country.

“Food is not merely a necessity; it is the foundation of health, dignity, and opportunity. Through Food for All, we are not only serving meals but also restoring hope and security to those who need it most. As hunger continues to grow, collective action becomes more important than ever,” added Dr. Chopra.
