Four editions in, vivo Ignite: Technology and Innovation Initiative remains steadfast in its commitment to build a credible platform that gives national visibility to young STEM talent, between classes 8 to 12. The same belief resulted in the inception of vivo Ignite, a small step that ricocheted into a long-standing commitment that inspires joy in different communities and empowers them to contribute meaningfully towards the growth of the country. vivo Ignite isn’t just a competition to see whether young India has what it takes; instead, it is a phenomenon. It invites young thinkers, innovators and doers to rise to the occasion and develop an idea they believe in. It is where young India sees innovation is something you build, and not just study.

The Spark that Ignited a Fire to Learn Beyond Classrooms

Launched in 2022, the initial journey of vivo Ignite was simple – invite students from across India to tackle real-world challenges with innovation and technology driven solutions. No theory papers, no textbook answers, just real challenges.

The result? A snowball effect which pulled in over 3,000 registrations and over 1,100 ideas ranging from AI to MedTech to Sustainability. At the end, the top 10 innovators were awarded scholarships and rewards up to ₹25 lakhs. While a modest start, it confirmed the belief vivo had carried into the initiative from day one; that young India doesn’t lack ideas, it just needs a platform to build them on.

Increasing the Momentum; When Opportunity Meets Hunger

What followed was not a slow climb but a deliberate, edition-on-edition sprint. By its third edition, vivo Ignite grew into a nationwide movement, with participation that effectively doubled from the year before. More than 5,600 ideas emerged beyond classrooms, from districts vivo Ignite hadn’t even reached before. This is proof that young India is hungry to innovate and is brimming with ideas. To keep that drive alive, vivo backed the strongest ideas with scholarships and rewards worth up to ₹35 lakhs.

But the edition’s real headline wasn’t a number. It was a student who built an AI-powered detection system addressing a real public safety challenge, effectively proving that when students are pushed in the right direction, they have the potential to create real social impact.

Across its editions, vivo Ignite has achieved nationwide scale, reaching thousands of students across India to help shape their innovation journey.

The fourth Edition: Designed to Create Deeper Impact

If the first three editions of vivo Ignite were about building the platform, the fourth edition is where deeper intent comes into play, making vivo Ignite more accessible than ever before. To create a profound impact, this year’s registrations opened with a sharper focus on students from aspirational districts, ensuring that the platform reaches the abundance of talent in India.

With the 4th Edition, the goal is to continue fostering a platform that enables young innovators to think the impossible and create solutions that directly address India’s social challenges. To support this, the stakes have been raised exponentially. This expanded vision is supported by a bigger rewards pool of scholarships and fellowships. This year, the momentum comes full circle. With the Teacher Innovation Fellowship, vivo is honouring the mentors who inspire young changemakers to keep their innovative spirits forever ablaze. It is a powerful shift which rewards not just the student, but the entire ecosystem that nurtures them.

Observing the overwhelming response of children, now the registration for the fourth edition has been extended until 10 July 2026.
