On 10th July 2026, the Government of Uttarakhand convened a landmark CSR Dialogue at the Chief Minister’s Camp Office in Dehradun. The event brought together leading corporate houses, CSR partners, and social organizations to deliberate on the role of industry in shaping the state’s development journey.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the assembly, emphasizing that transparency, good governance, and collaborative spirit have made Uttarakhand an investor‑friendly state. He urged corporate groups to become active partners in the state’s growth, highlighting that CSR initiatives in Devbhoomi carry not only social impact but also cultural and spiritual significance.
The dialogue featured participation from major industrial players including ONGC, ITC, Mahindra & Mahindra, Hyundai, Panasonic, Anchor, Finolex, Infosys, HUL, L&T Foundation, Aditya Birla Capital, Flipkart, PepsiCo, and many others. Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed between the state government and companies such as Kia, ONGC, Hyundai, Mahindra, Panasonic, Anchor, Finolex, and ITC, marking new commitments to CSR projects in Uttarakhand.
The Chief Minister underscored the unique challenges of a mountainous and border state, where geographical conditions increase the cost of development projects. He reiterated the government’s resolve to provide industries with a conducive environment, infrastructure, and policy support, aiming to position Uttarakhand as a leading investment‑friendly state.
The CSR Dialogue was enriched by the experiences shared by Toyota Kirloskar, Axis Bank, Kotak, Spark Minda, LIC, Hero Motocorp, Luminous, Avada, Reckitt, and PNB, who highlighted their ongoing CSR initiatives in Uttarakhand. These ranged from health and hygiene awareness campaigns in rural villages, women’s empowerment programs, road safety projects, education and skilling initiatives, renewable energy adoption, and electronic waste management.
Grassroots changemakers like Poonam, working with Mahila Swasthya Samooh on menstrual health awareness across four villages, brought a human dimension to the dialogue. Their stories illustrated how CSR is not just about corporate investment but about transforming lives at the community level.
In his keynote, Chief Minister Dhami expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their contributions and encouraged them to expand their efforts. He stressed that CSR in Uttarakhand should focus on employment generation, rural development, education, tourism, and social welfare, ensuring holistic growth across sectors.
The event concluded with Dhami’s inspiring message: “Together, we can accelerate Uttarakhand’s development journey and set an example for the nation. Beyond Borders – Connecting Ideas, Creating Opportunities.”
The CSR Dialogue was not merely a ceremonial gathering; it was a strategic platform to align corporate vision with state priorities. The government highlighted sectors where CSR could make the most difference:
- Healthcare and Hygiene: Addressing rural health challenges, menstrual awareness, and preventive care.
- Education and Skill Development: Creating opportunities for youth in remote areas through vocational training and digital literacy.
- Women Empowerment: Supporting self‑help groups, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion.
- Tourism and Environment: Promoting sustainable tourism while safeguarding Uttarakhand’s fragile ecology.
- Infrastructure and Road Safety: Partnering with industries to improve connectivity and safety standards.
Several corporates expressed interest in new projects, ranging from renewable energy installations to digital education hubs. The dialogue also showcased how CSR can complement government schemes, ensuring that development reaches the last mile.
The Chief Minister reiterated that Uttarakhand’s vision is not limited to industrial growth but extends to inclusive development, where every village, every community, and every citizen benefits.
