K.P.B Hinduja College in association with Saarthi Foundation provided a helping hand to the poor and needy

PRESS RELEASE

K.P.B Hinduja College in association with Saarthi Foundation provided a helping hand to the poor and needy

The unprecedented nationwide lockdown due to Covid-19 spelt doom on more than millions of people who were found to be suffering to make ends meet or even afford two square meals a day.  Touched by this, the students of K.P.B Hinduja College and Saarthi Foundation organized a social initiative drive to provide a helping hand to the poor and needy. These students of the BIM Department of KPB Hinduja College organized this drive as a pre-event of the I-Club and contributed towards the society by distributing food packets, hand sanitizers and face masks.

The drive conducted under the able mentorship of Dr. Minu Madlani, Principal, KPB Hinduja College, Dr. Antara Sonawane, Vice Principal and Dr. Shital Mody, Convener, saw the students make a difference to approximately 150 individuals by providing them with lessons on health and sanitation and nourishing their hunger.

On the community event, Dr. Minu Madalani, Principal, K.P.B. Hinduja College said, “We are extremely proud of our students to have organized this drive and make this kind of a difference to these people who need it the most. As members of the society, we all have a social responsibility to follow and we constantly try to instill these values into our students as well.We are glad to say that looking at the difference this event has made, our students have pledged to continue doing such noble causes at regular intervals and helping the underprivileged in whatever way they can.”

The social partner for this event was Aeron Fly and the delicious meals for the food packets were provided by food partner The Happy Plate.
