Mumbai, August 10, 2021: With an intent to make education accessible to every student, JK Cement announced the construction of 250 ramps in various government schools in the district of Jaipur, Rajasthan. Naming the initiative, ‘Banaye Har Raah Aasaan’, it ensures that every single child avails the opportunity to access their right to education, thereby fostering an inclusive academic ecosystem in the process. This initiative was in commemoration of JK Cement’s Late CMD, Shri Yadupati Singhania. JK Cement’s commitment towards inclusive education aligns with the Government’s National Education Policy which targets at ensuring equal and inclusive education to all students. The said policy states that all higher education institutions in the country should ensure that all educational buildings and facilities should be wheelchair-accessible and disabled-friendly. By constructing 250 ramps in just one single day, across various government schools, JK Cement is aiding the government’s vision to make infrastructure more accessible to differently-abled students, so that not a single child is left out.

Sharing his views on the initiative, Dr. Raghavpat Singhania, Managing Director, JK Cement said “Our Late CMD, Shri Yadupati Singhania Ji has been an inspiration for all of us. A beacon of hope, humility and compassion, Late Shri Yadupati Ji truly believed that every child has a right to education. It was his dream to make education accessible to each one of them. Our late CMD’s humble thoughts nurtured JK Cement into an organization that not only continues to grow but gives back selflessly to the society. Through this CSR initiative, we hope to keep Yadupati Ji’s thoughts alive and to carry forward his legacy. “

Sh Madhavkrishna Singhania, Deputy Managing Director and CEO reiterated, “In one way we can say, Rajasthan is home for the JK Cement organization. We set up our first cement plant in Nimbehera, Rajasthan in 1975. We have a strong relationship with Rajasthan since then and believe we must give back to society and its future. Children are the future of the nation and each child deserves to be educated so that they can carve out a better tomorrow for themselves. To make education more accessible and inclusive for all, we shall undertake many such initiatives in the future.

According to a recent UN report, 75 percent of children with disabilities in India do not attend any educational institutes in their lifetime. To address these concerns, the Government has implemented several policies over the last two decades, concerning the educational reforms for the differently-abled and make education more accessible and inclusive to all students.
