CSR NEWS On 28th March 2016, The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee presented Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri awards at a Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Eminent personalities from different fields like public service, sports and entertainment are awarded with these awards. Actor Anupam Kher, sportspersons Saina Nehwal and Sania Mirza, singer Udit Narayan, Ram Sutar, Former CAG Vinod Rai, Heisnam Kanhailal, Barjinder Singh Hamdard, Swami Tejomayananda, Prof N S Ramanuja Tatacharya, Prof D Nageshwar Reddy, Former US Ambassador to India Robert D Blackwill and Bennett, Coleman & Company’s Indu Jain were given Padma Bhushan. Padma Vibhushan was given to actor Rajinikanth, Yamini Krishnamurthi, Girija Devi, Ramoji Rao, Shri Shri Ravi Shankar, Dr Viswanathan Shanta.

The award is conferred “in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order”, without distinction of race, occupation, position, or sex. The recommendations for the Bharat Ratna are made by the Prime Minister to the President, with a maximum of three nominees being awarded per year. The 2019 Bharat Ratna award has been bestowed upon three great personalities, namely former President Pranab Mukherjee, Social worker Nanaji Deshmukh and singer Bhupen Hazarika. CSR NEWS Safe Water Network (SWN) and Honeywell India (NYSE: HON) announced the launch of the 25th Honeywell-funded iJal safe water station in Telangana to mark World Water Day. These 25 safe water stations are located in Karimnagar, Adilabad, Warangal, Khammam, and Nalgonda districts, and serve approximately 94,000 people in areas that lack safe drinking water.. The Honeywell-Safe Water Network initiative addresses a critical need in the region that suffers groundwater contamination from high levels of fluoride. Water and sanitation-related illnesses account for 70-80 percent of diseases in this area.
