ITC Maratha Collaborates with MSAA for a Powai Lake Clean-Up & Rejuvenation Drive on World Environment Day

Environmental conservation begins with collective action and conscious efforts towards protecting the ecosystems that form the backbone of a city’s natural heritage.  On the occasion of World Environment Day, ITC Maratha, in collaboration with the Maharashtra State Angling Association (MSAA), is organizing a Powai Lake Clean-Up & Rejuvenation Drive, a focused initiative dedicated to environmental awareness, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable community action. Centered around the preservation of one of Mumbai’s key ecological landmarks, the initiative aims to spotlight the urgent need for reducing plastic pollution, conserving aquatic biodiversity, and encouraging responsible environmental practices through active community participation. Employees and volunteers from ITC Maratha, alongside MSAA members and lake workers, will participate in extensive clean-up and awareness activities at Powai Lake.

On World Environment Day, Nestlé India reaffirmed its commitment to reducing plastic waste through responsible packaging, plastic collection and processing, and community-led waste management initiatives. The Company also reiterated its focus on strengthening circular economy solutions and advancing responsible waste management practices across the country. Kunwar Himmat Singh, Head, Corporate Affairs, Sustainability and CSR, Nestlé India, said, “Addressing plastic waste requires action at every stage – from how we design our packaging to how it is collected and managed after use. HDFC Bank Parivartan Contributes to Saving Over 3.26 Lakh Acres of Farmland from Stubble Burning Across North India

Mumbai, 4th June, 2026: On World Environment Day, HDFC Bank, through its CSR programme Parivartan, in partnership with CII Foundation, announced a landmark milestone in its Crop Residue Management (CRM) initiative, 88% of 3,78,425 acres of farmland have been saved from stubble burning across Punjab and Haryana in the 2025 season. Reaching 86,000 farmers across more than 380 villages in Ludhiana and Sangrur districts of Punjab and Fatehabad district of Haryana, the programme is a comprehensive and impactful private-sector-led effort to tackle agricultural air pollution in North India.
