Stone-age to space age, mankind has traversed a long, arduous developmental path–discovering, experimenting and innovating–to make life easier. And in the process of making life comfortable, human civilization has been continuously exploiting nature’s reserves. Growth of civilizations, technological advancement and scientific experiments has done more harm to the planet than good. Nonetheless, extreme weather and recurrent natural calamities have forced political economies to think of possible solutions to conserve the environment. Governments, NGOs, corporates and we as individuals need to get serious about climate change. Making the earth greener, saving energy and fuelling from natural sources like sun, wind, water, is the key. But producing renewable energy is not a low-cost affair. EDITORIAL Affordable housing is something which should address the housing needs of the lower or middle income households. Affordable housing becomes a key issue especially in developing nations where a majority of the population isn’t able to buy houses at the market price. It refers to housing units that are affordable by that section of society whose income is below the median household income. Though different countries have different definitions for affordable housing, but in meaning it largely remains the same. There is a lot of demand for housing in our growing economy. CELEBRATING THE MAHATMA, INTEGRATING THE NATION

EDITORIAL Across the country and in many parts of the world, Mahatma Gandhi was remembered on his 150th birth anniversary this year on October 2. The Union Ministry of Corporate Affairs also took this as an opportunity to launch the National CSR Awards which was given to companies for their exceptional contribution in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The awards were given to them on October 29, 2019, by none other than the President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.  Addressing the businesses, the President said the term ‘CSR’ is a recent coinage, but the spirit behind it has a long history in our land. “The legacy of giving was carried forward by entrepreneurs of early industrialism.
