
Mumbai Port Authority Plants 1,500 Trees on World Environment Day under Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam
Plantation drive held at Cotton Green and Sewri East to support green cover and public participation in environmental care. Mumbai Port Authority organised a tree plantation drive on World Environment Day 2026 under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative, reinforcing the message that caring for the environment begins with individual responsibility and collective action. The plantation programme was organised by the Civil Engineering Department of Mumbai Port Authority at two locations. A total of 1,500 plantations were undertaken as part of the drive, including 500 trees at Ram Mandir, Cotton Green East, and 1,000 bamboo plants along the footpaths at Sewri Gadi Adda, below Atal Setu, Sewri East. The first plantation activity was held at Ram Mandir, Cotton Green
