New Town, Kolkata, May 28, 2021:Ambuja Neotia & ICICI Lombard jointly announce the opening of ‘Vinod Neotia Covid Care Centre’ — a 58-bed first-line COVID care facility in New Town. Located adjacent to Bhagirathi Neotia Woman and Child Care Centre, New Town, this facility is set to start operations from today. ICICI Lombard, has provided the medical equipment to the Covid Care centre, which comprises 48 oxygen-aided beds for mild or moderately affected Covid-19 patients and 10 High dependency unit (HDU) beds. The centre will provide nursing assistance and lab support 24×7, HDU beds for treating critical as well as mild Covid cases requiring hospitalization. Ashok Soota launches SKAN Medical research trust for Ageing and Neurological disorders

India, April 4, 2021: Ashok Soota today announced the creation of SKAN, probably India’s first not-for-profit entity in the private sector, exclusively for medical research. The research for the projects will be done through reputed partners, and directly in-house.  The strategic partner for Neurological research is the Centre for Brain Research (CBR) at Indian Institute Science, Bangalore (IISc).  CBR is putting together a consortium to handle the first project on Parkinson’s disease.  The strategic partner for Ageing is the upcoming St. John’s Geriatric Centre (SJGC), to be located on the St John’s Hospital campus. Soota has agreed to fund the setting up of the Centre for Research in Ageing and Geriatrics (CRAG) at the SJGC and to support joint projects.

Metropolis Healthcare Ltd. awards scholarship to 70 medical students under its flagship CSR initiative MedEngage

PRESS RELEASE Mumbai, 17.02.2021: Metropolis Healthcare Ltd., India’s leading diagnostic service provider, awarded scholarship to 70 medical students for the 2nd edition of its annual Medical Talent Outreach Programme, MedEngage. The recipients of the scholarship were awarded a total of INR 50 lakh in recognition of their academic scores, publications, extra-curricular activities and presentations. With the objective to nurture and nourish medical talent in India, this year’s edition of the scholarship summit was held virtually. Over 2000 registrations and 1500 applications from several government and private medical colleges from India were received for the scholarships.
