UMBVS, Phalodi Rajasthan with Indian Exim Bank support started ‘Product & Design Development Program’

PRESS RELEASE Urmul Marusthali Bunkar Vikas Samiti (UMBVS), Phalodi, Rajasthan, is a not-for-profit organization established in 1989, for the welfare of weavers in the Great Thar Desert of Western Rajasthan. The weaving is being handled by a cluster of 50~60 weavers in 6 villages, namely Phalodi, Ranisar, Bhojasar, Bhiyasar, Karwar, Krishnanagar, near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The technique of the member weavers of UMBVS is unique and the skills required to weave in the pit-looms is generally mastered only by a few weavers, based on their experience.  Due to lack of knowledge and awareness about innovative weaving techniques, churning out new designs in tune with market requirements, latest trends and designs, textures, patterns, colour combinations, etc. they find it difficult to provide

Phillips launched its dhobi empowerment initiative ‘Hausla Program’

PRESS RELEASE Philips, a global leader in health technology, recently launched its dhobi empowerment initiative ‘Hausla Program’, and has collaborated with Dhobi Kalyan Charitable Trust to assist 100 dhobis in Mumbai in reviving their business. The pandemic has adversely impacted the livelihood of dhobis and have been struggling to make ends meet with people being wary of giving clothes for ironing due to hygiene and safety concerns.  To overcome these challenges, Philips team visited dhobi shops and kiosks to provide them with protective gear including masks, gloves, sanitizers, face shields, and laundry bags to deliver clothes. PC Financial Services raising awareness on importance of wearing masks

As part of its CSR initiative, PC Financial Services Private Limited – a Non-Banking Finance Company (NBFC) duly registered with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) – carried out mask distribution drive in parts of Mumbai and Haryana to spread awareness about the importance of wearing masks in public amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
