4 October, 2023: In a bid to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment through community engagement and education, Delhi MSW Solutions is leading and supporting the cause of responsible waste management. Their CSR Efforts are directed towards addressing the national capital’s 11,332 tonnes of solid waste crisis , which educates citizens to assist in streamlined recycling by separating their waste at the point of origin.
Delhi MSW Solutions, is a subsidiary of Re Sustainability, one of Asia’s leading providers of comprehensive management services. Along with Ramky Foundation, their CSR wing, it has partnered with Delhi Municipal Corporation to deal with solid waste challenge at the grassroot level. An annual public awareness program with a daily plan has been activated with the objective of revolutionizing waste management practices jointly with the Delhi Municipal Corporation.With door to door awareness campaigns, street plays, workshops and rallies, the CSR Program covers almost entire Delhi. It runs from the streets of Prashant Vihar, Sector-13, Rohini, GTB Nagar, Hudson Land and Narela to name a few.
The Mission Zero Waste Campaign – Swachta Sarvekshan, 2023, comprehensive Capacity Building Training Programs, involve direct interactions with the housekeeping staff, the kitchen staff and management. These are directed to ensure that the all stakeholders right from individuals to institutions have the knowledge and tools that are required and contribute towards the enhancement of the cleanliness and health of the city. A series of engaging door- to- door campaigns have been conducted as part of the collaborative efforts, where households have been reached directly. Informational materials have been distributed and banners have been showcased that stress the importance of waste segregation.
As a result of the on ground efforts, 1,362,500 households have been reached with 5,450,000 participation across 57 wards in 5 Zones. Through education, community engagement and awareness, Delhi is moving towards a waste free and environmentally conscious future. The #SayNoToSingleUsePlastic initiative also goes a long way in empowering, inspiring and educating the community to adopt responsible waste management practices.
Mr. Masood Mallick, CEO, Re Sustainability said that they want to inculcate source separation and plastic reduction as a way of life in communities thus cultivating sustainable waste management behaviours.
