13th June, 2023: In a bid to further their commitment and show support to the National Road Safety Plan, Jagat Pharma & Dr. Basu Eye Hospital collaborated with the All India Transporters Welfare Association (AITWA.) This initiative promoted eye health by organizing a special eye care camp for all the drivers associated with AITWA. The camp was held at NECC Transport, UP Border.

A host of activities that benefitted the visual well-being of the drivers were organised at the camp. Skilled optometrists initiated comprehensive eye check-ups and identified any underlying eye conditions or any potential issues that might impact the visual well-being of the drivers and prevent them from discharging their duties safely.

Consultations with experienced eye doctors in addition to the check-ups was also offered to the drivers. They could avail personalized recommendations based on their individual needs from these experienced eye doctors. Optimal eye care was ensured for the drivers through this one-on-one consultation. The drivers were empowered with valuable insights and guidance through these individual consultations.

Founder of Jagat Pharma & Dr. Basu Eye Hospital Dr. Mahender Singh Basu stated that the safety of drivers and their well-being was very important to them. Traffic safety research organizations have noted incidences of uncorrected vision problems among drivers. Routine vision examinations would be a crucial step in reducing traffic accidents he added. He expressed his optimism by saying that he was sure that this programme would improve the performance and general well-being of the drivers and as a result the road safety too would improve significantly.

He mentioned how their commitment to non-surgical eye care and holistic healthcare, provides solutions that uphold the greatest standards of innovation and quality. He said that they were honoured to collaborate with AITWA in the promotion of eye health and in ensuring the well-being of the drivers.

A study of the drivers’ eye examinations revealed a wide range of eye related conditions that would otherwise have gone undetected. Such camps play a crucial role in early detection and preventive therapy.
