Madgaon, Goa, 16 October 2026: Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the flagship company of Malabar Group, a leading diversified business conglomerate, has announced scholarships worth ₹9.36 lakh for 104 girl students in Goa under the Malabar Charitable Trust Scholarship for Girl Students Programme.

The announcement was made earlier this month at an event held in Madgaon in the presence of Digambar Kamat, Hon’ble Minister for Public Works Department (PWD), Government of Goa, along with senior representatives of Malabar Group and other dignitaries. The initiative marks another step towards expanding access to education and supporting the aspirations of deserving girl students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

As part of its national CSR initiatives, Malabar Charitable Trust has committed scholarships to support the higher education of 40,000 girl students across India in FY 2026–27. Since its inception, the programme has supported over 1.5 lakh girl students across 19 states, with cumulative scholarship contributions exceeding ₹102 crore.

Through this initiative, the Malabar Charitable Trust aims to reduce financial barriers to education and enable young girls to pursue higher education, build confidence, and work towards a brighter future.

Launched in 2007, the Malabar Charitable Trust Scholarship for Girl Students Programme focuses on supporting girls from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds by providing financial assistance for their educational needs. The initiative aims to improve access to education and empower young girls to pursue their academic aspirations with confidence and independence.

Commenting on the initiative, M. P. Ahammad, Chairman of Malabar Group, said, “At Malabar Group, we believe that education is a powerful enabler of social progress and an important step towards building a more inclusive society. Through this programme, we remain committed to supporting young girls and creating opportunities for them to pursue higher education. We will continue to build on this initiative to create lasting opportunities and contribute to the country’s long-term social development.”

Under the programme, scholarships are awarded to girl students pursuing Classes 11 and 12 in government schools who have successfully completed Class 10 with a minimum of 50% marks. The financial assistance covers tuition fees, books, stationery, examination fees, and other essential educational expenses, helping students to continue their educational aspirations without interruption.

The scholarship initiative in Goa reinforces Malabar Group’s continued commitment to community development and its efforts to expand access to education across the country. Through the Malabar Charitable Trust, the Group remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that address educational needs, empower deserving students, and contribute to inclusive and sustainable social development.
