Nestlé India takes a green step – partners with Greenline to deploy LNG powered fleet

 

Nestlé India and GreenLine, pioneers of LNG-fuelled heavy trucking logistics in India, have taken a green step towards creating a sustainable future through custom designed container trucks. This partnership aims at reducing the carbon footprint of the logistics operations of Nestlé India. Nestlé’s factory in Sanand, Gujarat, and Bhiwandi, Maharashtra will see the deployment of Greenline’s custom created 46 feet long containers.

The LNG Powered fleet from Greenline comprises state- of –the- art trucks that are manufactured by Blue Energy Motors. By significantly reducing Sulphur Oxides, Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen Oxides, particulate matter emissions and Carbon Monoxide, emissions reduction from road logistics operations will be enabled.

 Mr. Sanjay Khajuria, Director, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Nestlé India said, that they were accelerating their sustainability initiatives and were committed towards net zero emissions and sustained logistics was a step in that direction. Deploying different modes of transportation using bigger vehicles and alternate fuel to optimize vehicle capacity utilization was in accordance with this.

Anand Mimani, CEO, GreenLine, while speaking about this partnership with Nestlé India, said that they were delighted to partner with Nestlé India to assist them in achieving their emissions reductions goals. Their innovative green mobility solutions help companies achieve their sustainability objectives.  These green mobility solutions decarbonise road logistics operations.

In a bid to create a cleaner environment and sustainable future for the generations to come, Greenline is working towards decarbonizing heavy trucking in India and showcasing the immense advantages of LNG fuelled long haul truck to corporates.  Greenline is collaborating with multiple organizations to create an integrated green mobility eco system in India with the objective of making low emission LNG Trucking a reality!
