New medical facilities under MGL Aarogya inaugurated by Mahanagar Gas Limited

28 th July, 2023:Mahanagar Gas Limited recently inaugurated medical facilities and upgraded new centres under its CSR initiative “MGL Aarogya.”  This initiative which focusses on healthcare saw the inauguration of the new Digital Dental Centre and Dental Implantology Centre at the Nair Hospital Dental College of BMC. The Cardiac Stress Testing Laboratory of the Cardiology Department at Topiwala National Medical College & B.Y.L Nair Charitable Hospital were also inaugurated. These Centres were then upgraded.

Both these centres were jointly inaugurated by Chairperson CSR Committee- MGL- Ms. Malvika Sinha, Director M.E & M.H BMCDr. Neelam Andrade, and Member CSR Committee-MGL- Shri Syed Shahzad Hussain.

The inauguration event for both the centres was graced by the presence of noted personalities includingManaging Director, Mahanagar Gas Limited Mr. Ashu Shinghal, Deputy Managing Director Mahanagar Gas Limited Mr Sanjay Shende, Dean of Nair, Sion & KEM Hospitals, Mr. Atmakur Chakrapani, Vice President (HR & CSR), Mr. T L Sharnagat, Vice President (Contracts & Procurements and Chief Risk Officer) Senior officials from Mahanagar Gas Limited along with Heads of Departments of Nair Hospital were also present.


Mahanagar Gas Limited, a leading company for
city gas distributions (CGD) in India with GAIL (India) Ltd as its promoter has added to the expertise at the Dental Centre. The Computer Aided Design and Computed Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) will result in better treatment of the patients from Mumbai, its suburbs and outside Mumbai as well.

This facility has made Nair Dental Hospital the first government/semi government hospital in the country to have advanced technology. Dental practitioners with this help will be able to perform complicated restorations swiftly and effectively. This digital technique will support high strength ceramic restorations including overlays, crowns, Inlays, Veneers, Dentures, Bridges and implants.


The equipment donated to the department of cardiology of T.N Medical College & B.Y.L Nair Charitable Hospital include VDDR Single Chamber ICD-DX Technology, equipment for Percutaneous Transluminal Valvuloplasty (PTV) & Balloon Mitral Valvuloplasty (BMV) and Computerized Stress Test (CST) Machine

 

This equipment will not only strengthen the infrastructure of the hospital but also provide quality cardiac and dental care to those who come from the economically weaker sections of the society to avail treatment there.
