NHPC provides free healthcare services to the local population through its project dispensaries, particularly in remote areas, and also supports healthcare infrastructure, including the provision of aids and assistive devices to Divyangjans. During COVID-19 pandemic, NHPC contributed ₹100 crore to the PM CARES Fund, supplied cold-chain equipment and supported the installation of oxygen generation plants.
NHPC’s CSR initiatives also stress on safe drinking water, sanitation, rural development, environmental sustainability, women empowerment, sports and disaster relief. Through these initiatives, NHPC addresses diverse community needs, particularly in remote and difficult terrains.
