PNB MetLife Marks Earth Day with Community Engagement Initiative at Gurugram Government School

PNB MetLife - Earth day 1 - Prachi BaliyanGurugram, Haryana | April 23, 2026: PNB MetLife India Insurance Company Limited (PNB MetLife), one of India’s leading life insurance companies, marked Earth Day, on April 22, 2026, through a community engagement initiative with students at Government Senior Secondary School, Gairatpur Bass, Sohna, Gurugram. The initiative shows PNB MetLife’s commitment towards environmental awareness and grassroots engagement.

The initiative included a tree plantation drive, drawing and painting activities, and an interactive session on the importance of water conservation, aimed at sensitizing students about environmental responsibility from an early age. As part of the program, 100 saplings were planted within the school premises.

To encourage longterm care and accountability, students were also encouraged to adopt a sapling and take responsibility for nurturing it, helping them build a personal connection with nature and understand the importance of sustained environmental action.

Employees across multiple departments of PNB MetLife volunteered for the initiative, reflecting the organization’s culture of active participation in community focused programs. The event was attended by Dr. Suman Lata, Principal of the school, along with teachers, who supported and participated in the activities alongside the students.

Sourabh Lohtia, Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, PNB MetLife, said, “At PNB MetLife, we believe that building awareness from an early age is key to creating longterm positive change. This Earth Day, it was heartening to engage with young students and encourage simple yet meaningful actions such as tree plantation, water conservation, and nurturing the saplings they adopt. Through the collective efforts of our employees and the school community, we aim to bring in a sense of responsibility towards the environment and contribute to a greener and more confident future.”

PNB MetLife undertook multiple green initiatives across its offices in various regions on Earth Day. Through such initiatives, PNB MetLife continues to focus on creating positive social impact by working closely with communities and encouraging responsible environmental practices.
