  Re Sustainibility Limited and 92.7 BIG FM partner for Eco friendly celebrations with Green Ganesha      

                 

13 Sept, 2023: The upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi Celebration will now feature Seed Idols, Creative Paper, Plastic Recycling & much More. This  marks the 16th edition of the award winning Green Ganesha Initiative #ReBIGGreenGanesha, being jointly undertaken by  Re Sustainability Limited (ReSL) and  92.7 BIG FM.

Re Sustainability, is a leading global circular economy firm and working closely with Mission Life, that has been announced by our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at UNFCCC COP26. The objective being to bring together individual behavious and local culture at the helm of the global action narrative. Communities across Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad will be impacted by this initiative. The Ganesha idols will be embedded with seeds and fertilizers. The #Nimarjan ritual can be performed in a flowerpot at home by the recipients. This will ensure the flourishing of a new plant.

Eco-friendly Seed Ganesha idols will be distributed in Hyderabad and Delhi. This will motivate citizens to adopt eco friendly alternatives to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. The partnership this year, adds a new dimension. A used paper collection drive had been initiatied from communities in Delhi and Hyderabad. The paper collected will be recycled into large eco-friendly Ganesha sculptures. A 7 day mall activity has been planned which includes Ganesh idol Sthapana,  arti and sweets distribution.

A series of engaging activities will mark the Mumbai celebrations of the #ReBIGGreenGanesha campaign. The RJs of Big FM will ask their listeners to give up the use of plastic bottles and thus encourage the adoption of eco friendly practices. Special collection points at Residential Welfare Associations (RWA) will be set up for donations f to the cause. “Plastic Ke Vighnaharta” (Guardians against Plastic) will be created as an art piece for pandal decorations with the collected bottles. The cleanliness of the pandals will be supported by volunteers. After the celebrations the bottles will be properly recycled and reused to build a bench as an example of sustainable alternatives. The RJ’s will enbcourage sustainable living.

 

 

 Mr. Goutham Reddy, Managing Director. Re Sustainability, Mr. Goutham Reddy, said that sustainability was not an option but a necessity. He mentioned that significant work  had  been done by them in eradicating water pollution. An awareness about sustainable practices and the preservation and conservation of water bodies was crucial to their initiative.

 

CEO, Re Sustainability, Mr Masood Mallick, said that this year their flagship  campaign was was taking the message of Responsible &Sustainable clebrations to all the homes in India while aligning with the key tenets of Mission LIFE. Suporting New Greeen life and  paper and plastic linked initiatives for recycling he said would strengthen theor commitment towards an India that is sustainable and pollution free.

This initiative will highlight the preservation of the environment during festivals by adopting  eco friendly measures, and spreading awareness to communities about the same.
