#SaferIndiaOn2Wheels: Every Lesson Today Shapes a Safer Ride Tomorrow

Press Release- indiaonwheels

New Delhi, 18th June 2025: The first lesson towards road safety begins with awareness- not only for today’s riders, but also for future road users. With two-wheelers playing a major role in daily commuting, especially among India’s youth and urban population, developing the right habits early is crucial for long-term road safety. Instilling safe habits is one of the most effective ways to create long-term behavioral change on India’s roads.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), in collaboration with the Delhi Traffic Police, recently concluded a Road Safety Summer Camp at the Delhi Traffic Training Park situated at Baba Kharak Singh Rd, Hanuman Road Area, Connaught Place, New Delhi. The Summer camp engaged over 1200 participants, children between the age group of 11-17 years, offering a hands-on learning experience aimed at building a strong foundation in road safety.

The Summer Camp brought together schools, NGOs and trained instructors to create an engaging and interactive learning environment. Over the course of 19 days, students were introduced to various aspects of road safety through a series of thoughtfully designed activities such as primary road safety lessons, safe riding theory, road safety games, cycling practice, yoga sessions and traffic drills which helped children understand their own responsibilities as road users. The Traffic Training Park in Delhi continues to serve as an experiential learning space where young individuals are introduced to real-world traffic scenarios in a controlled environment. This structured approach helps the children experience and apply safety lessons in a controlled and supervised setting, helping them better understand the consequences of road behavior.

By engaging young minds and inculcating the fundamentals of road safety, initiatives like these lay the groundwork for long-term behavioral change. Every responsible rider and pedestrian contribute to a safer road environment, making small choices everyday that can prevent accidents and save lives.

HMSI’s road safety initiatives are driven by its global vision of achieving zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda automobiles and motorcycles worldwide by 2050. In alignment with the Government of India’s target of reducing road fatalities by 50% by 2030, HMSI continues to expand its efforts across India. As mobility continues to evolve, so does the need for a stronger safety culture-where helmets aren’t optional, rules aren’t ignored, and awareness is second nature.

HMSI’s sustained engagement in road safety reflects a broader commitment to not only build better riders, but to strengthen communities and create a shared accountability to promote road safety. By equipping individuals with the right knowledge, HMSI continues to contribute meaningfully to India’s larger road safety ecosystem, creating safer journeys not just for riders, but for everyone.
