To build awareness of women’s healthcare and rights Allcargo group organizes various initiatives

May 3, 2024: The global logistics conglomerate Allcargo Group, which was founded in India, has arranged several events at its skill development centers spread throughout Mumbai to promote women’s health and wellbeing. Allcargo Group has celebrated women’s accomplishments and persisted in its mission to inspire people generally to support and uplift women and create an equitable and inclusive society by planning various health check-up camps and social awareness development initiatives.

An eye screening camp was arranged at the Allcargo Skill Development Training Centre in Dhamni, Panvel, in association with the Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha and Saad Foundation, for the local tribal communities as well as the people living in Dhamni and the surrounding villages. 136 women attended the one-day camp for eye exams, and many of them went away with complimentary eyeglasses as well as support and advice for additional treatments and eye surgeries from the medical staff.

Allcargo Group organized a special session at its Skill Development Centre in Belapur, Navi Mumbai, for the students to raise awareness on critical issues such as acid attacks, domestic violence, societal ignorance, and the importance of empowering women through education and self-defense training. Alka Patil, Assistant Police Inspector, Central Unit, Crime Branch, Mumbai Police, was the chief guest of the event.

A rally was organized at the Allcargo Skill Development Centre at Ishwar Nagar, Digha, in Navi Mumbai, with the support of Sankalp Manav Vikas Sanstha and Project Bala, in which several women came together to build awareness of women’s rights and gender equality. At the health check-up camp organized, sanitary pads were distributed, and Dr. Datta Prasad, a naturopathic practitioner, and his team offered treatments and healthcare guidance to many teenage girls and women.

The Allcargo Women Empowerment and Livelihood Skill Development Training Centre at Bokadvira, Uran, Navi Mumbai organized a breast cancer screening and awareness camp in association with Niramay Health Care Foundation. The medical team also held a session on building awareness about the causes and preventive measures related to diseases like tuberculosis.

Dr. Nilratan Shende, Head of CSR at Allcargo Group, said, “Women empowerment is the key driver for an inclusive transformation and development of our society and the economy. With this series of initiatives, we celebrate, support, and strengthen the power of women. By organizing the initiatives, we aimed to touch the lives of women at the grassroots and play our role in making them an integral part of the growth journey of the country. Women’s empowerment is one of the six core CSR priorities of Allcargo Group, and we are committed to continuing to strengthen our efforts, which are in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.”
