Panna, Madhya Pradesh: In the rural pockets of Panna, where opportunities for women to engage in income generating activities are often limited, the Udaan Skill Development Project, supported by JK Cement and implemented by Lok Kalyan Bhumika Samiti, is creating new pathways for selfreliance and dignity. Designed with a focus on practical and locally relevant skills, the initiative aims to train 300 women in Stitching and Beauty Parlor trades. The project is being implemented in a phased manner, with each phase spanning six months, ensuring that participants receive adequate time for learning, practice, and skill strengthening. 9th December 2024: In a step that promises to transform lives and build dreams, Huhtamaki India, a leading provider of primary consumer packaging and decorative labeling solutions, and part of Huhtamaki Oyj, a Finnish-based global food packaging company, has launched a vocational training program for youth in Rudrapur and Silvassa. In collaboration with the InShakti Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to skill development, the initiative will equip 100 young individuals – predominantly women – in Rudrapur and Silvassa with industry skills that open doors to new opportunities, nurturing hopes and creating pathways to independence. The placement- linked, short term skill. training imparted to women and youth at DIKSHa, helps add them to the skilled workforce for enhanced income. Initiated in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation in 2016, the program operates through 15
