RIGHTS BASED EMPOWERMENT

INITIATIVE According to the Census 2011, there are 2.68 crores (2.21%) persons with disabilities in India, though according to some estimates, the actual number may be as high as five per cent of our population. However, there has been a paradigm shift in the approach towards the persons with disabilities (PWDs) during last some years. The government’s focus now is on rights based economic empowerment of PWDs as we observe the International Day for Persons with Disabilities on 3rd of December this year. Ingersoll Rand commences the second edition of skill training and placement programme

PRESS RELEASE Ingersoll Rand, a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable and efficient environments, recently launched the second edition of its Skill Development Programme 2018 at New Delhi. The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and National Skill Development Fund is part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) mandate in India. Maruti Suzuki inaugurates 11th Water ATM in Haryana; to tackle bad water quality faced by the community

PRESS RELEASE Clean drinking water being a critical need identified by Maruti Suzuki India Limited in its adopted villages in Haryana, the company has designed a self-sustaining partnership model that provides clean drinking water to villagers at an affordable price. The company recently inaugurated its second water ATM in the Kasan village of Manesar. The water ATM was presented to the community members by Lt. Gen. Dushyant Singh Chauhan, Senior Advisor (Vigilance), Maruti Suzuki, in the presence of village panchayat and community elders. The company bears the initial cost of the water ATM, the panchayat provides the land and the electricity to operate the facility while WaterLife India sets up, operates and maintains the plant for at least 10 years.
