The 10th batch of SBI YFI Fellows drives rural development impacting 100,000 lives in 250+ villages of India    

                           3 November, 2023: The valedictory programme of the 10th batch of The SBI Foundation’s Youth for India program concluded at SBILD, Bangalore. The batch of 67 dedicated fellows who completed the 13-month fellowship, presented their contributions to rural development to the 13 NGO partners present there. There are 580+ SBI YFI alumni who are working in the development sector in India. The projects across 12 thematic areas are aligned with 10 UN Sustainable development goals. A significant impact has already been created in 250+ villages in 20 states across the country. A Skill-Training Programme to support underprivileged youth introduced byFlipkart Foundation and Smile Foundation

19 October, 2023:A livelihood programme to empower underprivileged youth was introduced through a collaboration between the charitable arm of the Flipkart Group, The Flipkart Foundation and an Indian Development organization, the Smile Foundation. This partnership will equip young individuals with industry relevant skills and will specifically focus on Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) soft skills and personality development. As part of a key focus area of this collaboration two strategically located Smile Twin e-Learning Programme (SteP) centers in Bengaluru. Comprehensive training to 270 youth who come from less privileged backgrounds will be provided by these institutions, which will indirectly benefit a broader community consisting of 1,100 individuals.  This initiative will open the doors of a more promising future for

DailyRounds & The/Nudge Institute collaborate to eradicate Ultra Poverty in 400 Households of Rural Jharkhand

29 september, 2023: The/Nudge institute, a non-profit organization and Daily Rounds, the largest academic network of doctors in India, partnered for the latter’s “End Ultra Poverty Program.” This program aims to empower women who belong to ultra poor families by breaking the ultra-poverty cycle. They will endeavor over the next three years towards creating sustainable local livelihoods for 400 women. These women belong to the rural communities in Latehar and Lohardaga of Jharkhand. This collaboration is a significant step towards addressing the urgent issue of ultra-poverty by focusing on the marginalized women and families from the rural and underserved regions of Jharkhand. Allcargo Group Swachha Vasundhara Abhiyaan and the Maharashtra Forest Department collaborate for International Coastal Cleanup Day

20 September , 2023: On the occasion of International Coastal Cleanup Day Allcargo Group an Indian global logistics conglomerate collaborated with its’ NGO partner, Swachha Vasundhara Foundation, to promote environmental sustainability and maritime health. The Swachha Vasundhara Foundation is supported by the Maharashtra Forest Department. Over 1,000 volunteers who took part in this initiative, were NGOs, Navy personnel, NCC Cadets and students from 18 colleges. The main contribution of this initiative was the restoration of 2.5 acres of an area that hosts vital mangroves and cleaning up Mangroves and the beach at Carter Road. Training imparted to 5,000 Youth in rural Maharashtra through the Youth Skilling programme of Swades Foundation.

Swades Foundation the philanthropic endeavour of Ronnie and Zarina Screwvala, recently completed the training of 5,000 youth in rural Maharashtra through its Youth Skilling program. This was conducted in collaboration with the support of CSR partners, Udyogwardini and Learnet Skills. Out of the 5,000 youth who participated in the Youth Skilling Program, 83% were successfully placed in jobs and were either employed or self-employed. The skilling program targets the underserved youth in the age group of 18-35 years. By equipping the youth who attend the program with the relevant skill sets including soft skills, they are groomed for meaningful employment opportunities. Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation completes its sixth year and enrolled farmers register a 16% increase in productivity

Marico, one of India’s leading consumer product companies in the global beauty and wellness segment, had established their Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation (PKF) ON World Coconut Day in 2017. The focus of the Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation was on 3 principles. The first being enabling higher crop yield, the others being training farmers to be self-capacitated in their farms and imparting training to them on scientific and research based agricultural practices. The Foundation has plans of covering over 4 lakh acres of farmland and enrolling over 1 lakh farmers by FY25. By FY26 the aim is to generate 1000 crore incremental farm income.           Spowdi and SEWA collaborate to scale Smart Farming

A 2.5-million-member association of self-employed women, SEWA has collaborated with Green-tech innovator Spowdi, through a five-year agreement, to introduce Smart farming to thousands of women small hold farmers. This partnership will be executed under the Water Drop Initiative phase 2. This was announced post the successful completion of phase 1 of the Water Drop Initiative. Phase 1 was supported by SHL Medical, and Spowdi and SEWA has provided Smart Farming training and technology to SEWA grassroots members covering four states of India. Through the Water Drop Initiative, small-hold farmers will be enabled to transform their farming practices into smart farming. Smallholder Farmers in Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh empowered through the collaboration of Flipkart Foundation and TechnoServe

28 August, 2023: A partnership between The Flipkart Foundation, under the Flipkart Group which is one of the leading digital commerce entities and TechnoServe which is a non-profit economic development organization, has led to the launch of a program aimed at empowering FPO’s or Farmer Producer Organizations. The lives of over 7,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries within the farmers’ communities in the two states will be positively impacted by this initiative. From these, 50% will be women from farming households. Specialized training workshops will be conducted to impart the necessary skills to the Farner Producer Organizations as part of the programme.
