Child and maternal malnutrition continue to be the most challenging risk factor for health loss in India. There has been an alarmingly high rate of under nutrition and child stunting among children in India. The Global Hunger Index (2020) — which is calculated on the basis of total undernourishment of the population, child stunting, wasting and child mortality — places India at the 94th spot among 107 countries. Through its health initiative ‘Aarogya’, Tata Motors in association with the Manav Seva Trust (MST) in Sanand, Gujarat, undertook several initiatives to address malnutrition and undernutrition in the state.  Besides fulfilling its immediate goal of improving nutritional levels of the children, the initiatives were also aimed at raising awareness among mothers concerning

nEWS uPDATE/pRESS rELEASE National, 15th, November 2021: On occasion of Children’s Day, Aster Hospitals in India, as a part of Aster Volunteers Global CSR initiative has launched the ‘Second Life- Because Little Lives Matter’ initiative. The yearlong initiative is aimed at supporting the medical treatment of disadvantaged children, where the initial aim is to help treat at least 100 children below the age of 12 years by providing free paediatric surgeries. The initiative extends help to deserving children who are being treated across Aster Hospitals based in 5 States in India. This includes common childhood surgeries such as appendicitis, intussusception, empyema and paediatric urology surgeries as well as complex clinical surgeries including bone marrow transplant, liver transplants, heart surgeries, etc.

News Update/Press Release The Supreme Court on September 8 2021, lifted the decade old ban on women getting commissioned permanently in the armed forces. Until the judgement, women were only allowed for short commission service in the armed forces, that too after the completion of their graduation. News update/Press Release Living with a disability is a challenge. Living in poverty is a challenge. And so, for underprivileged children with disabilities, life can be unbelievably hard. For them, food and basic survival are far more important than any other parameter. Surviving must precede thriving. For over two decades, we worked to give support in several ways to children with severe disabilities. Our efforts have been focused on children with locomotor disabilities, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, vision difficulties, and those with multiple disabilities. The support we receive from organizations such as Allergan, an AbbVie company, enables us to provide these children with the nutritional and rehabilitative assistance they require to live their best possible life, even during the ongoing pandemic.
