One such initiative is STL’s Jeewan Jyoti.  STL (Sterlite Technologies Limited) is a leading global optical and digital solutions company providing advanced offerings to build 5G, Rural, FTTx, Enterprise and Data Centre networks. Infosys Foundation and Go Sports Foundation focus on aspiring women athletes across India and jointly launch ‘Girls for Gold’ Program.’ The philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys – Infosys Foundation, recently partnered with Go Sports Foundation to build a high performing excellence program for emerging and junior women athletes. Bright Future and Cognizant Foundation ’s Tech4All program partnership ensures sustainable livelihoods for young women of marginali zed communities in Pune

Bright Future in collaboration with Cognizant Foundation inaugurated a new training center with its first batch of more than 215 female aspirants. The center is well equipped to provide skills training to young women from marginalized communities in Pune under Cognizant Foundation’s Tech4All program to facilitate sustainable livelihoods. The program aims at providing career guidance, IT-based specialized training, and life skills support that will help enhance confidence and aid in obtaining gainful employment leading to a better life. Tech4All, launched in December 2021,is Cognizant Foundation’s flagship program that is designed to skill women and those with disabilities for careers in technology and technology-enabled services. SM Toys empowers more than 300 women across its manufacturing unit by generating employment opportunities 

The packaging division of SM Toys, the world’s largest manufacturer of small toys, took a major step in the direction of woman empowerment and welfare. SM Toys offered sustainable job opportunities to more than 300 women, in a bid to support them in their self-sufficiency and financial independence. These women can earn between INR 7000 – 10000 per month. SM Toys paying due and appropriate cognisance to economic empowerment and gender equality has implemented this unique initiative of providing livelihood to empower women aged 24 to 45 years. This initiative incorporates providing fair wages, creating opportunities for professional and personal growth, and giving them safe working conditions.  ‘Saksham’ Financial Literacy Home Credit India & Indian Development Foundation’s CSR initiative concludes successfully. Educates 30,000 marginalized women & girls as beneficiaries

30th May, 2023- A Financial Literacy programme “Saksham” which is a CSR initiative of Home Credit India (HCIN), a local arm of the leading global consumer finance provider, recently concluded this programme in collaboration with Indian Development Foundation (IDF) its’ implementation partner, a private non-profit organization. Project Saksham was carried out from July 2022 till March 2023, over a period of 9 months. The core objective of the Saksham financial literacy project is to impart basic financial education among marginalized women & girls in order to further their empowerment and facilitate their informed financial decisions. The Saksham project had nearly 30,000 women participants which included girl students, maids, homemakers, and daily wage earners.  There were 605 financial literacy workshops conducted

‘Nari Shakti’, a programme empowering marginalized girls and women through skill development launched by Flipkart Foundation in partnership with Deepalaya

 An innovative programme “Nari Shakti” seeking to empower girls and women from marginalized communities was launched recently. The Flipkart Foundation, under the Flipkart Group partnered with a leading NGO Deepalaya to kick start this. This project is slated to be implemented in two centers, covering Titron in Uttar Pradesh and Tavru district in Haryana.  This initiative plans to create new career opportunities by imparting training to 600 girls in Beauty Culture & Wellness and Fashion Designing. Deepalaya, supports underprivileged women, children and youth. The training that will be given to the 600 women and young girls will plant the seed of financial independence. They will also be encouraged to start micro enterprises and embark on the journey of sustainable livelihoods.

Women’s Empowerment will strengthen the economy in India

A more granular classification, as well as the introduction of demographic targeting in corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting that distinguishes between beneficiaries by sex, could help enhance the tracking and support for women and girls. In India, Women’s Economic Empowerment remains a big challenge as women’s participation in the workforce dropped to a historic low of 23.3%, per the recent periodic labor force survey (PLFS) data published by the NSSO. It is estimated that India’s GDP could be increased by 27% if women were to participate in the labor force in equal numbers to men.
