Signify all set to illuminate 10 Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) grassroots courts in Assam

6th December, 2023: Signify (Euronext: LIGHT) has planned the illumination of 10 Brahmaputra Volleyball League (BVL) grassroot courts in Assam.  The inauguration ceremony which took place recently at the Community Volleyball Court BVL Barbari village center in Nalbari marked the commencement of the next phase of the project. Three distinguished visiting Olympic Gold Medalists Gilberto Amauri de Godoy Filho (Giba) from Brazil, Mireya Luis from Cuba, and Vladimir Grbic from Serbia were present at the inaugural ceremony.  With this initiative, Signify will accomplish the lighting up of more than 120 grassroots BVL courts. ADB, Greenway: Channel Carbon Finance by signing a deal for Enhancing Improved Cookstove Usage in Rural India

24 November, 2023: A $6.5 million senior secured loan to produce and distribute 1 million improved cookstoves to the states of Madhya Pradesh and Odisha in rural India was signed by ADB – The Asian Development Bank and Greenway Grameen Infra Private Limited. A first-loss liquidity reserve of $3.25 million has been included from the Climate Innovation and Development Fund (CIDF), administered by ADB. There will be a significant reduction in black carbon and carbon monoxide emissions as the improved stoves reduce the fuel needs by 65% and the generation of smoke by 70% as compared to the typical and traditional indoor stoves or mud chulhas. Through this project, the cost of new cookstoves for rural households will be subsidized.

Campaign on Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) on the eve of Child Safety Week launched by Arpan and BEST

22 November, 2023: To mark the Child Safety Week 2023, observed from 14 November to 20 November 2023, Arpan and Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) have joined hands.  The objective of this collaboration is to increase the awareness about Child Sexual Abuse on public transports and creates safer environments for children during their daily trips. Child Sexual Abuse is a matter of grave concern that requires close attention. Going by the data released from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) in 2021 170 CSA cases are recorded daily, with 7 cases reported per hour. Arpan and BEST have united to address the rise in incidents of Child Sexual Abuse and aim to enhance the safety of Mumbai’s public transport

Violence against girls and women, quite distressingly remains a highly prevalent and pervasive human rights violation in the world. A global estimate reveals that 736 million women, which is almost one in three women have been subjected to physical violence or intimate sexual partner or non-partner violence at least once in their lives. The workplace and online spaces are seeing a surge in these statistics, especially post-pandemic. While the prevention of this has been a source of constant debate and deliberation, robust responses and considerable and consistent efforts and strategies for its prevention are the need of the hour. Platform 65 hosts Diwali dinner for the children of Om Sai Sevasrama Orphanage

10 November, 2023: Platform 65, India’s largest train-themed restaurant, located at KPHB Hyderabad- hosted a pre-Diwali dinner event on the 9th of November 2023 for the children of Om Sai Sevasrama Orphanage.  Vivekananda Seva Sangham collaborated with Platform 65 to execute this initiative. The objective of this event was to share happiness, joy and warmth with the less privileged who are as fortunate as the other children who celebrate Diwali. This initiative along with bringing hope and joy also crafted beautiful memories for a lifetime in the young minds. Akzo Nobel India, the makers of Dulux paints, is celebrating Diwali this year, with its Indradhanush women who are striving towards creating an empowered and diverse future in rural India. AkzoNobel India launched Project Indradhanush in 2021 with the primary objective of enabling women to foster micro-entrepreneurship and socio-economic development in rural India. This societal initiative started from one village in Assam but has now expanded to include and benefit women in 500 villages. These women reside in the villages of six states covering – West Bengal, Assam, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka. This initiative targets the collection and recycling of 15,000 tons of plastic annually in emerging markets and offers jobs and training opportunities support to 1,600 women. Through this holistic activity, Beiersdorf is strengthening its CARE BEYOND SKIN Sustainability Agenda. The company seeks to provide substantial funding to plastic waste recycling organizations that display a strong social business approach. On International Day of Rural Women Dalmia Bharat Celebrates the empowerment of 18000 women

16th October, 2023: An announcement of the successful empowerment of 1800 women was made by Dalmia Bharat on International Day of Rural Women the 15th Of October 2023. Dalmia Bharat, is an Indian conglomerate with businesses in the cement and sugar industry. Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been established through which these women are provided essential skill training and access to vital resources that are crucial for sustainable livelihood development. Dalmia Bharat collaborates with various organizations, namely – NRLM, NABARD to name a few, to organize various training initiatives in the farming and non-farming sectors, such as micro enterprise development, handicraft production and others. These activities cover the communities settled around their regions of operation in 12 states of India.
